Drugs, prostitution, gangs, shootings, poverty, violence, mental illness and hopelessness. This describes the life of many children living on a two-mile strip in Everett called Casino Road. Over 70% of these children are living below the poverty line and over one-third are transitional bi-lingual.
This neighborhood will change for the better. I believe the catalyst for this change will be the children. Simple acts of kindness towards kids can give families hope. We believe if we instill the value of compassion and charity in the children, they will teach these values to their peers and eventually their own children.
Casino Road Ministries has grown in the last five years, from less than a dozen kids meeting in a local apartment complex, to close to 100 children and over two dozen volunteers meeting on Casino Road after hours for Kids Club or Homework Club. We strive to meet the spiritual and physical needs of the children entrusted to us through:
- Homework help
- Sports scholarships
- Meals
- Mentoring
- Bible clubs
- Field trips
- Camp scholarships
- Providing school supplies
The Board and I are asking for your help. We need resources to continue serving the children. Our current needs are:
- Financial (All donations are tax deductable)
- AR (Accelerated Reader) books for grades 1st – 5th
- Board games
- Foosball and air hockey tables
- School supplies
Any gifts, no matter how large or small, will have a direct impact on the lives of these children. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Todd McNeal
